March 11
We are approaching our last week of the transfer, I can't believe how fast the time can go by! I really hope I get to stay in San Clemente.
Nothing too spectacular has happened this week, just normal missionary stuff. We have had the chance to teach a lot this week. Ever since Elder Holzapel came to our mission, we have been trying to teach a lesson everyday whether or not it is an investigator. Teaching members has helped us become much better teachers. This week we stopped by a man we met when I first got to San Clemente a couple of months ago. This time he let us in and I pulled a classic "My companion is new, can we practice one of the lessons on you" and he was totally down. It was super cool, he got kind of emotional through out and he invited us back when he has more time. It was pretty cool to see that stopping by people pays off.
The Brazilians are great! This week we taught them the 13 articles of faith. The coolest part was when the dad asked where we got the authority to act in Gods name and I pulled out my priesthood line of Authority and showed him that my authority can be traced to The Lord Jesus Christ himself. it was a super cool lesson. We started a soccer night for the 12 yr old in the family, he loves soccer. It has helped him make a lot of new friends his age which he needed. I love teaching them and seeing them learn and grow each day.
This verse from Alma 30 really hit me while reading the book of Mormon yesterday:
"...and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator."
That statement is so powerful. That Supreme Creator is our loving Father in Heaven. He created everything and everyone. I struggle to wrap my mind around that fact, but it helps me appreciate the life I have been given. That verse reminds me of a cheesy saying I heard recently:
How cool is it that the same God that created mountains and oceans and galaxies looked at you and thought the world needed one of you, too?
Our God is truly a loving Heavenly Father, he loves all of his children. I know that because I have felt his love for me and those I serve.
Love,
Elder Judd
