April 8- Quidditch World Cup
Aloha! Today, for our p-day activity we played quidditch! it was super fun, but I can only imagine what the people in the park thought of us running around with brooms and volleyballs.
This week has been amazing, last week Elder Esplin and I set a goal to pass out 25 copies of The Book of Mormon, which is a pretty lofty goal for this area. we didn't quite reach our goal, but we definitely pushed ourselves. The goal wasn't really about the number of Books of Mormon passed out, but stretching ourselves to bring the gospel to everyone we see. I learned a lot about the area and about myself. It was amazing to see what could be accomplished when we just push ourselves a little further.
As I approach my year mark, I have thought a lot about who I want to be for the second half of my mission. This week we got to go to the temple and I had time to ponder this question. In the Celestial room I was given much guidance as to what God expects of me. During my meditation, I received many answers. It amazes me how God can answer our prayers through other people. In the temple, Elder Kema showed me a scripture that has been on my mind ever since.
Doctrine and Covenants 60:13
Behold, they have been sent to preach my gospel among the congregations of the wicked; wherefore, I give unto them a commandment, thus: Thou shalt not idle away thy time, neither shalt thou bury thy talent that it may not be known.
I still have much to learn out here and a ton to sacrifice. I have learned the importance of using my time wisely out here, and not idling it away. This is God's time, not mine, and it should all be devoted to him. I hope to magnify the time I have here next year so that I can become the man God expects me to be.
This week has been filled with some of the deepest spiritual experiences of my mission, many of which are too sacred to share in an email. I know I have been sent here for a reason, and my time is limited to preach repentance to the men and women of Orange County. I love this great and marvelous work. I am so grateful to have heard from modern day prophets and apostles! I know we have a true prophet, seer, and revelator leading us today! I know that Christ lives!
stay groovy
Love,
Elder Judd
